Mickey Johnson was born August 27, 1930 in Vernonia, Oregon, the daughter of the late Boy Hall and Geneva Annie (Elliott) Hall. She was raised and received her education in the Vernonia community, having been a graduate of the Vernonia High School Class of 1949. She was united in marriage to James Chris "Jim" Johnson on May 25, 1957 in Kelso, Washington. Following Jim's retirement from the U.S. Navy in 1965 they moved to the Vernonia community. They made their home in Vernonia for thirty-one years, until1996 when they moved to the Forest Grove community, where she had resided since. Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, on December 28, 2003 at after celebrating over forty-six years of marriage together. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, Mickey enjoyed bowling, reading, making puzzles, playing cards, Keno and Bunco, having played in Bunco groups in Vernonia and Forest Grove. Mickey also played in Women's League Bowling at Park Lanes in Hillsboro and Rainbow Lanes in Forest Grove. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jo B. Carrick; and her two brothers, Glen Hall and William "Bill" Hall. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anna M. "Ann" and William D. "Bill" Lilley, of Hillsboro, Oregon; and her son and daughter-in-law, James C. "Chris", Jr. and Tina R. Johnson, of Vancouver, Washington. Also surviving are three grandchildren and their spouses, Gregory E. and Misty Holce, of Roanoke, Texas; Traci A. and Chris Wolf, of Vernonia, Oregon; and Tess M. Johnson, of Vancouver, Washington; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, John, Eric, Rebecca, Courtney and Wilfred; and Tyler and Trevor; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests that remembrances may be made to the Vernonia Senior Center, 446 Bridge Street, Vernonia, Oregon 97064, in her memory.
