Ralph Timmerman, 88, a resident of the Gales Creek community, died Tuesday morning, June 4, 2013 at Marquis Care at Forest Grove.

RALPH STANLEY TIMMERMAN was born on May 14, 1925, the son of the late John and Della (Pritzlaff) Timmerman. He was raised and received his education in the Gales Creek community, and attended high school in Forest Grove.

He was united in marriage to Darlene M. Johnson on October 1, 1953 in Vancouver, Washington. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this last October. Following their marriage they made their home in the Gales Creek community until 1979, when they moved to Canby, Oregon, where they resided for twenty years. In 1999, they returned to the Gales Creek community, where they have resided since.

Ralph worked in the farming industry, harvesting wheat, in the logging industry and as a mechanic.

Among his special interests, he enjoyed hunting, gardening and working on his farming equipment. Ralph also had a special love for caring for his dogs, "Penuche", "Shadow" and "Beowulf."

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, John and Della Timmerman; his brother, Johnny Timmerman and his sister, Ella Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene M. Timmerman, of the family home in Gales Creek, Oregon; his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Carey Timmerman, of Vernonia, Oregon; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Clint Avery, of Cornelius, Oregon and his sister, Frieda Bornemeier, of Oak Grove, Oregon.

Also surviving are his nine grandchildren and their spouses, Jolynn and Ron Cox, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Somer and Brian Lieble, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Shelly and Travis Neufer, of Kenewick, Washington; Levi Timmerman, serving in the United States Air Force, stationed in the middle east; Jennifer and Bill Sipprell, of Molalla, Oregon; Chad Rayevich and his fiancé, Maria Alvarado, of Sun River, Oregon; Sarah Avery, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Casey Jones, of Beaverton, Oregon and Rocky Jones, of Beaverton, Oregon; his twelve great-grandchildren, Brittaney Rayevich, Joshua and Dustin Wood; Brandon and Jacob Cox, Gage and Chase Lieble, Isabella and Emma Neufer; Chylynn Sharp and Zane and Paisley Linholm and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to a charity of your choice, in his memory.
