Sharon was born August 2, 1955 in Nyssa, Oregon, the daughter of the late Gilbert J. Gallegos and Margaret G. Gallegos. She was raised and received her education in the Nyssa community. After her high school graduation she moved to Eugene, Oregon and attended Beauty School.
She was united in marriage to Randall H. “Randy” Nelson on July 2, 1988 in Hillsboro, Oregon. They celebrated their 22nd Wedding Anniversary this past July. Following their marriage they resided in Hillsboro, Oregon until 1998 when they moved to Forest Grove, Oregon, where they have resided since.
Sharon had worked as a Stylist for the Hairport Beauty Salon in Hillsboro for many years.
Among her special interests she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and jewelry making, as Sharon was very artistic.
Survivors include her husband, Randall H. “Randy” Nelson, of Forest Grove, her two daughters and a son-in-law, Melisande Nelson-Castro and her husband, Sammy Castro, of Beaverton, Oregon; Nacquita Nelson, of Forest Grove; and grandson, Christian Isaiah Nelson; Brother, Gilbert Gallegos of Nyssa, sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Gamboa, of Beaverton, Oregon; Louise and Jesse Guerra; Ruth Castro; Linda and Russell Aman; Sandra Artiach, and Bridget Martinez, all of Nyssa, Oregon; Margaret and Jim Miller, of Payette, Idaho; Monica and Robert Ure, of Caldwell, Idaho; and Rachel Cornett, of Ontario, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Elvy Madrid.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made in her memory, to any Wells Fargo bank.
